1. Data controller

The controller responsible for the personal data collected through this website, operated under the trade name Industrial AI News, is the Industry 4.0 for Human Empowerment Foundation. For any question regarding this policy or the exercise of your rights: info@industrialai.news.

2. What data we collect

2.1 Data you provide

• Newsletter: your email address, the language you subscribed in, the date and time of your request and of your confirmation and, optionally, your name, company, role and country if you choose to add them after confirming.
• Submit news and award nominations: your email address, optionally your name and company, the link to the public source you provide and the text of your message.
• Selection tools: when you use a system-selection form, your email address, optionally your company, and the answers you give about your needs, so that we can send you the recommendation.

2.2 Data we collect automatically

When you visit the site we collect first-party, pseudonymised usage data: browsing data (pages visited, time on page, scroll depth, clicks and form interaction), technical data (device, browser, operating system, language, screen size and referring page), a pseudonymised browser identifier, and your IP address with the approximate location derived from it. 2.3 Server logs

Our hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp) for security and abuse prevention, retained for a limited period.

2.4 Editorial content about individuals

This site publishes articles and profile pages about executives and professionals in industrial AI, based exclusively on publicly available sources (press releases, company announcements, conference programmes and published interviews), for journalistic purposes. If you are named on this site and believe information about you is inaccurate or out of date, write to info@industrialai.news and we will review it.

3. What we use it for and on what legal basis

• To send you the newsletter you subscribed to, after you confirm your address: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email.
• To prepare and send you the recommendation you request through a selection tool: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
• To evaluate, verify and, where appropriate, publish news you send us or process award nominations, and to contact you about them: your consent and our legitimate interest in editorial activity (Art. 6(1)(a) and (f) GDPR).
• To measure and improve the website: our legitimate interest in analysing the use of our own site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and, where applicable, the consent given through the cookie notice.
• To comply with legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).

4. Link between your browsing and your contact details

If you have given us your email address through a form on this site, we may link that address to the browsing activity described in section 2.2, in order to handle your enquiry with context and to tailor our response to what actually interests you. This linking takes place within the controller's relationship-management system, is not used for behavioural advertising and is not disclosed to third parties for commercial purposes.

You may object to this linking at any time by writing to info@industrialai.news, without this affecting how your enquiry is handled.

5. Recipients and processors

We do not sell, trade or otherwise transfer your personal data to third parties for commercial purposes. We share data only with providers acting as processors on our behalf — the relationship-management system that receives the form submissions from this site, the hosting provider, the email delivery service and the IP geolocation service — and otherwise only when required by law, to protect our rights and safety, or with your explicit consent.

The specific identity of each processor is recorded in the controller's record of processing activities and can be provided to you on request at info@industrialai.news.

6. International transfers

Some of the processors listed above, such as the geolocation service, process data in the United States. Where data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, the appropriate safeguards under Chapter V GDPR apply, including standard contractual clauses where relevant (Art. 46 GDPR).

7. Retention

Newsletter data is kept while you remain subscribed and for up to 12 months after you unsubscribe, to document consent; unconfirmed subscription requests are deleted after 14 days. News submissions and award nominations are kept for up to 24 months after our last interaction. Browsing records are kept for a maximum of 30 days on this website's server and up to 12 months in the controller's centralised analytics system, as detailed in the Cookie Policy.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing. To exercise them, write to info@industrialai.news. You may also lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority — as the Foundation has its registered office in Spain, the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD) — or with your own national authority, which you can identify through the European Data Protection Board.

9. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction, including TLS encryption for data transmission, secure storage and access to personal data limited to those who need it.
